For the former, the sealing ring can be mounted on the valve body or attached to the periphery of the disc.The wafer butterfly valves with metal seals generally have longer life than elastomeric seal valves, but it’s difficult for complete seal. Metal seals can accommodate higher operating temperatures, while resilient seals have temperature-limited defects.
